Dale started here in 1995 – over 30 years later, her story will inspire you 

Dale, our Operations Coordinator, has been a cornerstone of Wollondilly Leisure Centre for three decades, championing safety and leadership since the venue’s earliest days. 

Starting in 1995 when the venue was just an outdoor 50-metre pool, Dale has grown alongside the venue, taking on roles including Lifeguard, Duty Manager, Swim Teacher and now Coordinator of Operations. Her experience and knowledge make her one of the most respected members of our team. 

Venue Manager Hayley Sherriff describes Dale as “the heart of Wollondilly Leisure Centre. Known for her energy and commitment, she starts her day at 5am, managing duties and coordinating the team with enthusiasm and care.” 

Dale’s leadership style is both fun and firm: she thrives on ensuring her team is kept safe, professional and inspired. Admired by colleagues and loved by her team, Dale’s influence can be felt across every department she’s touched. 

Safety and excellence have always been Dale’s top priorities. She has consistently achieved an average Lifeguard Mystery Shop score of 95%, a standard she has proudly maintained for years. 

Hayley added: “She is loyal, passionate and committed to making a difference every single day, through care for both her team and our community. We’re so lucky to have Dale leading the way.”
